The Monroe Fire Protection District is committed to the health and safety of our community through proactive education and outreach. Here are some of the services we offer to promote fire and life safety education.
FIRE & LIFE SAFETY EDUCATION
Fire Safety
This covers education on preventing, responding to, and recovering from fire incidents. Topics include smoke alarm awareness, proper use of fire extinguishers, and evacuation procedures.

Life Safety
We provide education on general emergency preparedness and identifying hazards, ranging from preventing slips and falls to crucial interventions like Narcan administration, safe medication disposal, and awareness of severe weather and other hazards in homes and workplaces.
Touch-A-Truck
This is a family-friendly event where kids can get up close and personal with various emergency vehicles, including fire trucks and technical rescue vehicles like watercraft.
Fire Safety Trailer
We offer a mobile education unit teaches fire prevention, general safety practices, and severe weather preparedness.
School Events
We offer safety education enrichment for various school activities, programs, and functions, involving firefighters or fire prevention personnel. This includes school-sponsored events and extracurricular activities.
Public Events
We participate in public gatherings such as festivals, concerts, parades, and farmers markets to provide safety education and awareness.
STEAM Events
We can contribute to events focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math with relevant safety education.
Celebrations
We can participate in birthday parties, end-of-school or club events, and other celebratory occasions to provide safety insights.
CPR or First-Aid
We offer training to equip individuals with essential skills to respond to medical emergencies. As an American Heart Association training site, we can provide required certifications. For those not needing certification, please inquire about our Friends and Family options.
Fire Station Tours
We conduct guided tours of our local fire stations, providing the public with an opportunity to interact with firefighters and learn about our mission, equipment, and safety practices.
Guest Speaker
Depending on availability, we can arrange for presentations from the Fire Chief or other firefighters on various topics related to fire and life safety.
